Thanks for your post. Yes, MityMic will enable you to make calls via Skype (you just need to toggle the “speaker” option during a call”) and also make any sort of recordings that you would have used the internal mic for. You will likely also get better quality recordings.

My iPad 2 internal microphone seems to be flawed. On my recordings I hear only noise and voice in very low volume. For a certain reason I can’t return iPad 2 back (I bought it in the US and live far abroad and there’s no Apple stores somewhere near).
I would like to obtain an external microphone to fully replace the functionality of iPad 2 internal mic. MityMic looks to me like an ideal solution. I would like to be able to use Skype, make recordings and do whatever I wish with the mic the same way as I would do it with internal mic. As far as I get MityMic can do this all but I would like to get a confirmation from the TouchMic staff.

Thanks for your post. Yes, all of the functionality will remain with the cable (speaker, mic, control buttons will all work!)

Does the “iPhone/iPod/iPad Mic Extension Cable” work with the iphone 4/4s standard headset, allowing the speakers, MIC, and control buttons to operate correctly?

Hi Lawrence,

All you need is pretty much any recording app. However MItyMic works really well with “HT Recorder” and “Voxie”. The HT Recorder App is superb in that it lets you control the mic gain (you have settings for large room, small room, close recording, ect..).

Hello Elwin,

The 3rd Party Mic adapter cable would probably be your best bet:

You would just need to use a regular extension cable that can be found at any local electronics store (with the 2-ring jacks on the end) and plug one end into the adapter opening and one end into your dictation unit.
